All‐Inorganic Halide Perovskites for Optoelectronics: Progress and Prospects

Abstract: During the past 8 years, solution‐processed organic–inorganic metal halide (OMH) perovskites have become some of the most notable materials because they can exhibit high solar cell efficiency, exceeding 20%. However, due to the volatile and hygroscopic nature of the organic cations, OMH perovskites suffer from chemical instability, especially at high temperatures. Therefore, all‐inorganic metal halide (IMH) perovskites (CsBX3, B = Pb, Sn, Ge; X = Cl, Br, I) are rapidly emerging as promising alternatives becaus… Show more

“…The loss of the open circuit voltage of ≈18% indicates that the energy‐level alignment can be further improved. One of the advantages of the CsPbBr 3 bandgap is the application in multijunction solar cells with PSCs, silicon solar cells, or CIGS solar cells . Another outstanding property of CsPbBr 3 is the high V oc that can minimize the number of serial connections when considering solar module design.…”

“…Amongt hem, CsPbBr 3 offers good phase stability,b ut has an intrinsically wideb and gap of % 2.3 eV that confines its absorption edge to % 540 nm, [4,8,11] limiting its use toward high-PCE cells. [7,9,12,17] Although av ariety of strategies,i ncluding refined grains, [18] doping, [19] or surfacet ermination modifications, [20,21] provedu seful fors tabilizing the desired perovskite a phase, their stability is still not satisfactory. “…Although researchers have reviewed the advances of all‐inorganic CsX‐HPSCs several times, a brief summary of the devices based on CsPbIBr 2 is still scarce and pressing. Considering its rapid development and the great application prospect, we intend to provide a detailed overview and the deepgoing discussion by this work.…”
