Introdução: O Diabetes secundário à doença pancreática crônica, classificado como Diabetes Mellitus tipo 3c, é causado por uma inflamação no pâncreas gerando disfunção celular e diminuição da sensibilidade hepática e dos níveis de glucagon, causando, portanto, resistência periférica à insulina. Objetivo: Este estudo tem como objetivo revisar sobre o tema DM3c, nos aspectos relacionados ao diagnóstico, quadro clínico, danos pancreáticos identificáveis e tratamento correto. Metodologia: Esta revisão sistemática utilizou métodos explícitos e sistematizados após a seleção das palavras-chaves e pesquisa no Descritores em Ciência de saúde (DeCs), para a seleção dos artigos nas bases de dados, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), incluindo LILACS e MEDLINE e Google Acadêmico, os fatores de inclusão (idiomas inglês, português e espanhol, e cronologia de 5 anos de 2018 a 2023). Utilizando critérios de seleção pré-definidos, foram selecionados 1.125 artigos, dos quais 94 foram escolhidos pelo título e após a leitura dos resumos e artigos completos restaram 8 trabalhos que foram selecionados para o presente estudo. Resultados: Um fator relevante sobre a relação entre pancreatite crônica e diabetes pancreatogênico destacado neste estudo foi que a maioria dos pacientes com Diabetes Mellitus tipo 3c apresenta a patologia da pancreatite crônica, estreitando a relação entre as duas doenças. Conclusão: O diabetes manifestado após a pancreatite crônica alcoólica é uma nova classe a ser estudada, pois os conceitos apresentados sobre o assunto são limitados. Assim, é perceptível a necessidade de estudos futuros para maior descrição patológica.
