Al‐doped ZnO nanofilms: Synthesis and characterization

Abstract: Al-doped and un-doped ZnO nanofilms on quartz substrate were obtained by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis of salt solutions (mole concentration of Al within 0-10%). The films were characterized by Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and UV spectroscopy to study the morphology and optical properties. The optical studies showed that the increase in Al within ZnO thin layer increases its band gap energy. The obtained value of band gap energy is very close to the det… Show more

“…Well known spray pyrolysis technique was employed for fabricating ZnO films on quartz substrate (~2.5×2.5×0.25 cm) [12]. In short, the setup consists of a cylindrical nebulizer mounted vertically on a horizontal table to spray the aerosol jet aimed upwards at a substrate through a 5 mm nozzle.…”

“…Preparation of transparent thin films of ZnO performed by depositing the ZnO precursor solution on conducting glass substrates (~2.5 ×2.5×0.25 cm) by a spray pyrolysis method and details of which is given somewhere else [10,11]. Briefly, the setup consists of a cylindrical nebulizer mounted vertically on a horizontal table to spray the aerosol jet aimed upwards at a substrate through a 0.9 mm nozzle.…”
