Aktivitas Antioksidan dan Penghambatan Xantin Oksidase Kulit Batang Songi (Dillenia serrata Thunb.)

Abstract: Songi (Dillenia serrata) is a tree endemic to Southeast Sulawesi and its stem bark been used in folk medicine. Nonetheless, only a handful scientific knowledge regarding chemistry and biological activities has been investigated on the plant. The present study aimed to investigate the antioxidant and xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitory activity of the stem bark of the plant. Methanol extract and organic fractions (petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, and methanol) of the dried powdered stem bark of songi were evaluated… Show more

“…Table 2 shows that the ethanol extract of Dengen leaves contains secondary metabolites of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, polyphenols, terpenoids, and steroids. Secondary metabolites of this group have also been found in Dengen leaves (Purnawati et al, 2020), Dengen fruit (Bandara et al, 2015); (Gandhi & Mehta, 2013);Suaib, 2021;Illing et al, 2017;Illing et al, 2018;Illing et al, 2019;), and Dengen bark (Sabandar et al, 2020).…”

“…According to our previous study with modifications 5,7 , total phenolics in the ethanol extract and organic fractions of M. scabra fruits were evaluated spectrophotometrically using the Folin-Ciocalteu (FC) method. A linear gallic acid standard curve was first established within a concentration range of 6.25 to 100 µg/mL versus absorbance of molybdenum-tungsten blue complex at 635 nm.…”
