<p>The ecological aspects such as environmental factors, socio-economic constraints, and demographic parameters are one of the key aspects of examining the health benefits of human subjects and are used as a ready reference in ecosystem modeling. Ecosystems are growing at an extraordinary speed around the world. Environmental factors are assumed to be responsible for over half of the global illness load. Environmental and ecological imbalances have a severe effect on public health, food security, global geopolitical and economic stability. The increased amount of environmental polluting factors eventually affects the health of humans and can cause diseases and disorders. Presently, there are various kinds of deadly diseases and disorders that are liable for affecting human health and impacting the eco framework of the whole world. Viruses such as corona, swine flu, omicron, and others are one of the best examples for the research community to understand the vulnerability of human health to these unpredictable causes. As per the report of the world health organization every year more than ten million people are affected by such ecological and environmental disbalance. The impact of environmental factors on the functioning of several organs in humans appears to be significant. There is a need to understand this ecological model with the health of human subjects. In this study, a cohort-based data set of ecological pollutants and physiological signals such as ECG and anthropogenic data of human subjects were extracted from Maharashtra from 2015 to 2021. As per neural network-based hazard ratio was calculated and observed to be deplorable among unhealthy and health categories of human subjects. The accumulative ecosystem is responsible for overburdening organs of living beings and policymakers must focus on the facts of study for modern management framework designs. Such initiatives could result in a more robust understanding of the human health implications of increasing environmental change, impacting decision-making in the environmental preservation and preventive health services.</p>

How Much Are People Willing to Pay for Clean Air? Analyzing Housing Prices in Response to the Smog Free Tower in Xi’an

The Smog Free Tower (SFT) in the city of Xi’an, China, is the world’s first outdoor architecture that uses solar energy and filtration technology to purify polluted air. It provides a unique opportunity to explore residents’ willingness to pay for air quality and their related behaviors. Drawing on data collected after the establishment of the SFT, this paper reveals the characteristics of changes in people’s willingness to pay for clean air. We found that, prior to the release of an assessment report on the SFT, housing prices had an inverted U-shaped relationship with the distance to the SFT, which indicated people tended to purchase houses a certain distance away from the SFT. The threshold value of distance was inversely related to the greening ratio of the residential area. However, after the publication of the experimental report on the SFT, housing prices decreased as the distance to the SFT increased, indicating the closer the house was to the SFT, the more likely people were to buy it. These changes confirmed that people are willing to pay for clean air. The convenience of transportation had a significant moderating effect on the willingness to pay for clean air, however. In other words, people may buy houses with lower air quality if they have better transportation accessibility. The findings of this paper may have practical implications for environmental governance, urban planning, residential satisfaction, and real estate market regulation.

The primary objective of the study is to analyse the relationship between COVID-19 and nitrogen dioxide in New York City during the global pandemic. Notably, the study has investigated the direct influence of lockdown circumstances (due to COVID-19) and plunge in the population of New York on its environmental contamination. The study utilized the Non-Linear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) model to ascertain the asymmetric impact of COVID-19 on the environmental quality of the USA. The results reveal that lockdown has played a significant role in the environmental quality of the USA. Notably, an escalation in the registered cases of COVID-19 has a meaningful and indirect relationship with environmental pollution in the UAS. Besides, as the lockdown state goes normal, it results in an explosion in the environmental pollution in the USA. Also, deaths due to COVID-19 substantively improve the environmental quality in the short-term period as well as in the long-term period.
