“…Over the last three decades, new concepts of development based mainly on the ground of sustainable development emerged. The concept of sustainable development, arising out of the need to prevent the degradation of the natural environment, covers not only social and economic aspects -enriched by contributions from various fields of science but it has also become the basic paradigm of all development programmes, policies and strategies formulated by international organisations, national governments and local and regional authorities [49]. Its essence still lies in ensuring the constant improvement of the life of modern and future generations by shaping rational proportions between various kinds of capital: economic, human, social and natural capital.…”

“…This must also include the relatively rapid changes in the cultural sphere and the growing aspirations of the farming population, especially the young generation. It should also be taken into account that there is no single model of agriculture, be it industrial or sustainable (Zegar, 2012;Hervieu, 2019;Adamowicz, 2021). The wealth is in the diversity of farms, as agriculture, like no other economic sector, is deeply immersed in the whole spectrum of local conditions: natural, socio-economic, and cultural.…”

“…It should be noted that food production significantly affects the natural world. There is, therefore, an urgent need to move to long-term sustainable food resource development due to the constantly emerging problems of natural resource depletion, the degradation of the environment, the reduction of biodiversity, constant hunger in the world, climate change, and the decreasing area of agricultural lands [ 2 , 3 ].…”
