The agricultural sector of Sinaloa is one of the most representative in Mexico. Its economic and social contributions are of great magnitude, as is its scale of production and the social impacts it generates. The objective was to study the perception of maize farmers in the municipality of Guasave on agricultural public policies and their impact on sustainable results in the sector. The methodology was quantitative-descriptive and cross-sectional. A sample of 260 farmers was analysed out of a study population of 18,650, to whom a survey was applied using the Likert scale. The internal consistency of the instrument was validated using the McDonald omega test, giving a (ω) of 0.868, considered reliable. Kendall’s Tau-c was used to find the relationship between the category and its respective subcategories. The results showed statistically significant correlations (Sig < 5%) that were greater than 0.7, so it was considered that the category “Public policies and sustainable development” showed a strong correlation with the subcategories “Governance and agricultural sustainability” and “Public policies in agriculture”. The results indicate that there is a need for greater attention to public policies, from their design to implementation. Agricultural activity has had a negative impact on a sustainable environment due to the current production methods. It is considered that to achieve significant progress in this sector, studies are needed to help detect and correct these problems and encourage greater participation of the actors in the sector in their work through training and the dissemination of sustainable practices.

Objetivo: Presentar el estado del arte en investigaciones sobre los circuitos largos de consumo como elemento impulsor de la agroecología en México. Metodología: Se utilizaron cinco bases de datos para encontrar artículos publicados entre 2017 y 2023 con palabras clave como "circuitos largos de consumo" y "agroecología". Hallazgos teóricos y prácticos: Se obtuvo un análisis referencial sobre la relación de los circuitos largos y agroecología en el sistema maíz en México, destacando un vacío de investigación. Originalidad transdiscilinar desde el punto de vista de la innovación sostenible: Estudio reciente y actualizado que contribuye al estado del arte en la aplicación de la agroecología y los circuitos largos de consumo en sistemas productivos agrícolas para la sostenibilidad. Conclusiones y limitaciones. Se necesita más investigación sobre los circuitos largos de como herramienta para impulsar la eficiencia de sistemas agroecológicos a escala comercial. La literatura se enfoca principalmente en los circuitos cortos de comercialización, como una alternativa al sistema agroindustrial y como herramienta de desarrollo económico local y social sustentable.

Objective: to characterize farmers who still grow food in the San Diego community through knowledge of their agricultural production systems. Design/ Methodology/ Approach: field visits and tours were carried out to the farmers' plots to obtain information that would allow the design of a questionnaire for the agronomic and social classification of farmers in San Diego. The questionnaire was applied to 26 of them; who narrated some historical facts about their survival in food production. Results: most of the farmers interviewed are on average 55 years old, have a level of education equal to or higher than middle school, have three economic dependents, use the yoke for tilling their soils and hybrid seed. Likewise, they apply organic fertilizers and chemical fertilizers to their plots for the growth of crops, for the control of pests and diseases they use agrochemicals; and the control of weeds is done manually, supplying water for the crops through gravity irrigation. Study limitations/ Implications: this research was conducted during the CovID-19 pandemic. For this reason, only 26 farmers could be located. Most of them were at home. Findings/ Conclusions: in the community of San Diego, two types of farmers can be identified, those who carry out practices related to conventional agriculture, and others who maintain traditional practices, but combine them with conventional agriculture.
