After the “Crisis” in Social Psychology: The Development of the Transactional Model of Science

Abstract: This paper reviews the literature on the ''crisis'' in social psychology. Although the symptoms of the crisis are various, the basic problem can be identified as the inappropriate emulation of the natural sciences model. Within this approach, psychologists attempted to discover objective, abstract, universal laws of human behavior, but have largely failed to do so.
