Aerobic exercise training promotes additional cardiac benefits better than resistance exercise training in postmenopausal rats with diabetes

Abstract: Aerobic exercise training and resistance exercise training promote attenuation of cardiac morphometric dysfunction associated with a reduction in oxidative stress in an experimental model of diabetes and menopause. However, only dynamic aerobic exercise training is able to attenuate systolic and diastolic dysfunction under this condition.

“…The CL assay was performed in LV and carried out with an LKB Rack Beta liquid scintillation spectrometer 1215 (LKB Producer AB), in the out-of-coincidence mode at room temperature (25°C to 27°C). Supernatants were diluted in 140mmol/L KCl and 20mmol/L phosphate buffer, pH 7.4, and added to glass tubes, which were placed in scintillation vials; 3mmol/L tert-butylhydroperoxide was added, and CL was determined up to the maximal level of emission [9,28]. …”

“…The reaction medium to determination of reduced glutathione (GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) concentrations contained 100mmol/L phosphate buffer (pH7.2), 2mmol/L nicotinamidedinucleotide phosphate acid, 0.2 U/mL glutathione reductase, and 70 mmol/L 5,50dithiobis (2-nitrobenzoicacid). For determination of GSSG concentration, the supernatant was neutralized with 2 mol/L potassium hydroxide for reaction with 70 mmol/L 5,50 dithiobis (2-nitrobenzoic acid), and absorbance values were measured at 420 nm [9,28]. …”

“…Hence, MHT may be a factor that affects auditory function. Second, the benefits of exercise for postmenopausal health or neurocognitive function are related to a number of confounding factors, such as body mass index (BMI), personal history of diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease and smoking status [21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28] . Third, a series of experiments demonstrated that high-intensity levels of exercise alter the RT 29 .…”

“…Performing regular aerobic exercises can improve blood pressure and thus reduce hot flashes in postmenopausal women, in addition to controlling weight and reducing osteoporosis [17]. However, not all postmenopausal women can perform aerobic and anaerobic exercises as some may have cardiovascular diseases or may be in the early stages of osteoporosis [18,19].…”
