Aerobic exercise and lipids and lipoproteins in men: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Abstract: Background-Aerobic exercise is recommended for improving lipoprotein and lipid levels which at less than their optimal levels are risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Evidence seems lacking for the effectiveness of exercise in reducing these levels, possibly due to small sizes in studies. We concluded a meta-analysis of the studies to examine the effects of aerobic exercise on lipids and lipoproteins in adult men.

“…A single bout of moderate exercise will increase after exercise regardless of training or intensity (23) . A reduction of 1% on Total Cholesterol has been shown to reduce their risk for coronary artery disease by 2% (18) which implies that participants in this study have reduced about 3.6% of their risk.…”

Показано, что низкая физическая активность является более значимым пре-диктором заболеваемости и смертности в результате сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний, нежели большин-ство других факторов риска [53].…”
