“…Similar findings were reported by Albanese et al, (2006). No significant difference in these variables between and within the treatment groups (p>0.05) indicated that the hepatic and renal parenchyma was not significantly damaged (Yadav et al, 2018). The normal ALT levels (Braz and Marinho, 2021) indicated no significant injury to the hepatic parenchyma caused by cytotoxic drug metabolites.…”

“…There was non-significant decrease in TEC in group B and C, which could be due to chemotherapy induced erythrocytopenia due to myelosuppression. Yadav et al (2017) reported consistent decreasing (P>0.05) trend of TEC in dog affected with TVT which was treated with vincristine and doxorubicin during post-operative period. There was significant (P<0.05) decrease in TLC in group B and C, as these cytotoxic drugs suppress the replicating precursor cells of bone marrow, thus, resulting in reduced production of leucocytes.…”

“…However, the TSP levels in group A and C showed marginal changes during period of observation. Yadav et al (2017) reported that serum total proteins showed slight drop on day 7 followed by rise (P>0.05) on day 14 and elevated profiles continued during post vincristine and doxorubicin therapy in TVT affected dogs. In group B, serum urea nitrogen and serum creatinine levels showed significant (P<0.05) increase upto 30 th day which furthers significantly (P<0.05) decrease at 60 th day whereas, in group A and C, non-significant variation was observed upto 60 th day of observation period.…”

“…In addition to the total erythrocyte count in dogs affected by TVT, the RDW tends to remain within the reference values without showing an increase in cell diameter, characteristic of young cells due to spinal cord regeneration. Even during the post-treatment period, chemotherapeutic agents may act by suppressing erythropoiesis in the BM (Jumean et al 1979, Yadav et al 2018.…”
