Adult chronic rhinosinusitis

Abstract: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), that is, inflammation of the mucosa of the nose and paranasal sinuses for at least 12 weeks, occurs in >10% of adults in Europe and the USA and poses a substantial global health and economic burden. Common symptoms include facial pain or pressure, nasal discharge, congestion, and hyposmia or anosmia (Fig. 1).
