“…The methods for zinc content determination in the undergraduate chemistry laboratory include gravimetric, gasometric, volumetric, voltammetric, and spectroscopic analyses (29)(30)(31)(32)(33). In this article, a novel gasometric device is developed using a small-scale assembly made up of a graduated pipet, rubber tubing, a test tube, and detergent as illustrated in Figure 1.…”

“…Nanomaterials are being explored for a wide range of applications in environmental, biomedical, , and alternative energy technologies, due to their unique physical, chemical, and electronic properties, which emerge from their nanoscale dimensions. In response to the continuous growth of nanotechnology, nanoscience concepts are being incorporated in the undergraduate curricula. In addition to classes and seminar courses, several laboratory experiments have been developed with the intention of giving undergraduate students the opportunity of having hands-on experiences in the preparation and characterization of nanomaterials, but only few undergraduate experiments have been developed that incorporate the use of nanomaterials for practical applications. The aim of this laboratory experiment is to combine the teaching of the fundamentals of metal nanoparticle synthesis, electrochemistry concepts, and the use of metal nanoparticles in electrochemical sensing applications, such as the detection of hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ).…”

“…The application of potentiometry via the Nernst equation and the OCP measurements illustrates concepts in electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, and environmental chemistry. In this Journal , bioaccumulation experiments have been reported , ; however, these experiments differ from our approach, as we measure biosorption in real time. In addition, our experiment is applicable to a wide range of students.…”
