“…During organ transplantation, tolerogenic DCs (Tol-DCs) favor graft acceptance. They are characterized by increased expression of CCR7, CCR5, CCR6, and other chemokine receptors, decreased expression of major histocompatibility complex II (MHC-II), and costimulatory molecules such as CD80 and CD86 [31]. Tol-DCs induce T cells hypo-reactivity, drive the generation of T regulatory cells (Treg), and induce antigen-specific immune tolerance.…”

“…23 ImDCs are characterized by increased expression of FccRII, TLRs, DEC-205, CCR1, CCR2, CCR7, CCR5, CCR6, CXCR1, CXCR2 and PD-L1, decreased expression of MHC-II, and costimulatory molecules, such as CD86, CD40, CD54 and PD-L2. [24][25][26][27][28] These imDCs have been described to have the capacity to induce or expand Tregs. However, some studies have shown that phenotypically mature DCs (high expression of costimulatory molecules) do not always induce Th1 responses but instead promote Tregs.…”

“…√ −: incomplete data. Criteria: 1 Peer reviewed publication; 2 Random allocation of treatment and control; 3 Animal species (inbred line, age-matched, MHC mismatch); 4 Sample size calculation (sample size of both control and experimental groups must be clarified); 5 Compliance with animal welfare regulation; 6 Statement of potential conflict of interest (source of funds must be clarified).…”
