The aim of this study is to establish the problems in training teachers who will be working at primary schools in the North Cyprus based on the opinions of faculty members, school administrators, teachers, and unionists. Using the qualitative research approach, open-ended, semi-structured questions developed by the authors were directed to the participants in order to establish the “teacher training problems” and to obtain data. The study group of the research was made up of six primary school teachers of the Ministry of National Education of North Cyprus, six school principals, six unionists from the administrative board of the Cyprus Turkish Teachers Union, and six faculty members from universities in the North Cyprus, which makes up a total of 24 people. The data obtained were analyzed using the inductive content analysis technique. The research revealed problems such as the inadequacy of application lessons in the teacher training system in the North Cyprus, the existence of selecting teacher candidates without a control or criteria, inadequacy of the pedagogical formation education, existence of teacher candidates entitled to get into permanent teaching positions after working as temporary teachers for 36 months, problems of supervision during the years of candidacy, appointing teachers for political interests, a teacher training process becoming a business for profit, inadequacy of faculty members in developing themselves, and in-service trainings not being implemented in a planned manner. In conclusion, recommendations were developed for educational faculties and the Ministry of National Education towards solving the problems of the system.

ÖzBu araştırma, öğretmen adaylarının, aday öğretmen yetiştirme programına ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemeyi amaçlayan fenomenolojik olarak desenlenmiş nitel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2015-2016 Eğitim Öğretim Yılı Temmuz döneminde Eskişehir ilinde aday öğretmen yetiştirme programına katılan maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 55 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri açık uçlu sorulardan oluşan yapılandırılmış standardize yazılı görüşme formu ile toplanmış olup; verilerin çözümlenmesinde ise nitel araştırma analiz tekniklerinden betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları sınıf içi ve okul içi faaliyetler, okul dışı faaliyetler ve hizmet içi eğitim uygulamaları ana temaları olmak üzere üç temel başlıkta ele alınmıştır. Çalışma sonuçları incelediğinde, aday öğretmen yetiştirme sürecine dair aday öğretmenlerin bazıları olumlu, bazılarının ise olumsuz düşüncelere sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca ders planı ve materyal hazırlama, dersleri izleme, yönetimsel faaliyetlere katılma, kurumsal farkındalık, kurumsal ve hizmet içi eğitim çalışmalarında karşılaşılan sorunların üzerinde durmuşlardır. Bu sorunların üstesinden gelinmesinde öğretmen adayları için farklı mesleki gelişim etkinliklerinin planlanması, deneyimli ve gönüllü danışman öğretmenlerin * Bu çalışmanın bir bölümü 8. This study utilized a qualitative phenomenological design The participants of the research consisted of 55 pre-service teachers selected through maximum variation sampling method. Participants of the study participated in pre-service teacher training program in the province of Eskişehir in the academic year of July 2015-2016. The data of the research is collected through structured interview form involving open-ended questions. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis is utilized. The findings of the research are addressed in three main themes, namely in-class and in-school activities, out-of-school activities, and inservice training activities. The findings revealed that some of the pre-service teachers have positive thoughts regarding pre-service teacher training process while some have negative views. They also emphasized some problems encountered in lesson planning and material preparation, classroom monitoring, participation in managerial activities, institutional awareness, and institutional and in-service trainings. Bu çalışmanın amacı, okul öncesi alanındaki aday öğretmenlerin aday öğretmen yetiştirme sürecine yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmanın amacına yönelik olarak betimsel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu İstanbul ili Arnavutköy ilçesinde görev yapan okul öncesi alanındaki 15 aday öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında çalışma dâhilinde geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formundan yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın kavramsal yapısı ve analizine temel oluşturacak kod ve kategoriler önceden belirlendiği için betimsel analiz yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Uzaktan eğitim kurs ve seminerlerinin aday öğretmenlerin mesleki gelişimlerine katkısı olmadığı; danışman öğretmen uygulamasının, programın geliştirilmesi gereken yönleri arasında olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca aday öğretmenler ders planlama sürecine yönelik doldurulan formların gereksiz olduğu; ders uygulama ve değerlendirme sürecinde doldurulan formların gerçekçi olmadığını dile getirmişlerdir. Aday performans değerlendirme sisteminin adil olmadığı; yüzeysel, mantıksız ve iş yükü olduğunu; strese yol açtığını ifade etmişlerdir. Çalışmaya katılan öğretmenlere göre aday performans değerlendirme sistemi olmamalıdır.
