Adaptive technology for soybean varieties cultivation in dry season

Abstract: Rainfed lowland is a potential physical resource for soybean development to increase the cropping index. The study aimed to optimize the rainfed paddy fields by introducing a package which has several recommended technologies in a limited amount of water condition. The study was conducted in Sanca Village, Gantar District, Indramayu Regency from July to September 2019. The treatment was a recommended technologies package in soybean farming. The observed variables were plant height and number of branches in thr… Show more

“…Legowo is a method of growing soybeans that maximizes the utilization of sunlight, water, and nutrients. Legowo increases the soybean yield by 17% compared with a single row; hence, it is a recommended technology package using jajar Legowo to obtain higher yields (Haryati et al, 2021). The numbers followed by the same letter in the same column were not significantly different according to Duncan's test at the 0.05 level.…”

“…Introducing early maturing varieties is one way for farmers to adapt in minimizing weather variability, risk management so as not to lose yields due to drought, increasing the planting index, and is useful for farmers in adjusting planting times when there is a shift in the rainy season [30,31]. Trends in changing rainfall patterns and global warming are causing the role of drought-tolerant soybeans to become more important [32].…”

“…In the organic farming system, legumes are one of the tools that can mitigate ecosystem deficiencies and reduce nutrient imbalances, but in most European farms, there is a decrease in legume acreage without a satisfactory explanation. Organic and inorganic legume residues have a positive effect on crop yields, and increase soil fertility and nitrogen content (Haryati et al, 2021;Hussain et al, 2021). Petrychenko et al (2016; note that a reliable element of the technology for growing environmentally friendly soybean products, and for increasing soil fertility, the main task in modern agricultural production is the introduction of environmentally friendly cultivation technology based on the optimal functioning of the symbiotic system, without using mineral fertilisers, especially nitrogen and pesticides.…”
