Adaptive multimedia content in mobile cloud computing environment

Abstract: Future trends for University distance learning systems involve integration of the mobile devices with the support of cloud computing services. The multimedia content that is delivered to the student's mobile devices provides an efficient learning environment. The main benefit, elaborated in this paper, is to use the processing power of the mobile cloud computing (MCC) environment for adapting the multimedia content to the context-aware network conditions of the mobile user. In this paper we also improve the Qo… Show more

“…Based on their study, [11] suggest that mobile cloud computing be used to present multimedia content based on the existing limitations of mobile devices, such as space storage, computing power, and broadband strength, in support of an adaptive interface. Cloud computing can be visualised as a new paradigm for mobile applications whereby the processing and storage of data could be transferred from the mobile device to a powerful computing platform centred on a "cloud".…”

“…During this process, the end user evaluates cognitive skills that are used for modeling knowledge and understanding in a given field [25]. The experiments done in the proposed framework for mobile adaptive multimedia delivery [25], have confirmed the existence of different user experience while using the mobile cloud computing environment in practice.…”

“…During this process, the end user evaluates cognitive skills that are used for modeling knowledge and understanding in a given field [25]. The experiments done in the proposed framework for mobile adaptive multimedia delivery [25], have confirmed the existence of different user experience while using the mobile cloud computing environment in practice. That leads to the next important criterion for modeling of adaptive multimedia content, the context-aware influence of network parameters during the process of delivery of multimedia content [25].…”

“…Also, they discuss the main contributions of using clouds in mobile computing as (i) computation offloading and (ii) capability extension in terms of computation, networking, storage, etc. The works in [21,22] discuss mainly on the feasibility of using MCC for multimedia applications and data collection in large scale networks whereas [23,24] focus on using MCC for healthcare systems.…”
