Intercropping is an attempt to plant several types of crops on the land at the same time, arranged in such a way in a row of plants. Planting in this way can be done on two types of plants that are relatively different old. The application of Rice-Corn intercropping was carried out in Playen District of Gunungkidul. Rice seed was used Sidenuk and Inpari 42 varieties then planted at distance of 40 cm x 20 x 12.5 cm (Tajarwo 2:1). The corn seed used Pioneer 35 and they are planted at 60 cm x 25 cm. The purpose of this research is to examine the application of intercropping rice-corn compared to monoculture cultivation on the aspects of soil nutrients status, affects intercropping on both crops yield and feassibility analisys of the intercropping farming on the two different agricultural system. The results of study show that on intercropping pattern rice yield can reach 5.19 to 5.85 ton ha-1 and dry corn shells from 5.43 to 6.28 tons ha-1 and quite profitable with a B/C ratio of 2.68 and R/C ratio of 3.12 compared to rice or corn monoculture planting patterns alone with B/C ratios of 1.24 and 1.88, respectively

Upaya yang dapat dilakukan dalam peningkatan produksi jagung dapat dilakukan dengan penggunaan varietas unggul, defoliasi dan pemupukan yang berimbang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemupukan lewat daun (foliar) dan pemangkasan daun tanaman jagung (defoliasi) terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung hibrida NASA 29. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Samboja, Desa Bukit Raya, Kec. Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara, Kalimantan Timur, pada bulan April-Juli 2020. Bahan tanam yang digunakan adalah jagung hibrida NASA 29, pupuk KNO3, Gandasil D dan MKP. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 3 (tiga) ulangan. Faktor pertama jenis pupuk yang diaplikasikan lewat daun (foliar) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu P1 (pupuk gandasil), P2 (pupuk MKP) dan P3 (pupuk Rosasol). Faktor kedua adalah waktu defoliasi yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu D1 (75 HST), D2 (82 HST) dan D3 (90 HST). Data hasil pengamatan dianalisa dengan analisis ragam dengan uji F pada α = 5%. Bila terdapat beda nyata, dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ pada α = 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan jenis pupuk lewat daun dan defoliasi beserta interaksi tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap variabel tinggi tanaman, panjang dan lebar daun, diameter batang, tinggi letak tongkol, panjang tongkol dan diameter tongkol. Perlakuan pupuk P3 dan defoliasi D2 memberikan hasil terbaik pada berat tongkol dan berat biji kering pipil.

Approximately 80% of the land under the stands of coconut trees has the opportunity for intercropping. Corn farming under coconut stands can increase the efficiency of land use and provide additional income to farmers. One of the determinants of the success of increasing crop production is through balanced and fertilization rational and the use of superior varieties. The study aims to determine the effect of type, dose, and time of fertilization of corn on dry land under coconut stands. The study was conducted from June to October 2018 in Bumi Restu Village, Wasile District, East Halmahera Regency. The results showed that maize production in 40% shade conditions under coconut stands was influenced by the variety and fertilization, but only one variable interacted namely dry shelled weight.. Corn production on dry land under coconut stands achieved by the four varieties (Variety Nasa 29, Sukmaraga, Bhishma, and Lamuru) are as follows; 5.5 tons/ha; 4.7 tons/ha; 5.3 tons/ha and 5.2 tons/ha at a dosage of organic fertilizer 2.000 kg/ ha,NPK Phonska 450 kg/ha, and urea 150 kg/ha. The Bisma and Lamuru varieties are shade tolerant and can be grown on dry land under the stands of coconut.
