Adaptabilidade e estabilidade de progênies de meios-irmãos de pinhão-manso em diferentes regiões do Brasil

Abstract: Programas de melhoramento do pinhão-manso (Jatropha curcas L.) intensificaram-se nos últimos cinco anos, tendo sido selecionadas, localmente, plantas em diversas regiões do Brasil. Show more

“…Plant performance is evaluated considering the interaction of genotypes and environments (GE) that may favor or reduce the quality of the beverage produced at these locations (Czerny et al, 1999;Alves et al, 2011). In environments that are marginal for coffee growing, it is important to select lines that associate greater adaptability, understood as better performance, with greater stability, defined as the ability to maintain the response in different environments (Rocha et al, 2016).…”

“…Differential response of the plants to environmental variations makes it necessary to consider the genotype × environment interaction in the plant performance in different environments (Ten Caten et al, 2011;Rocha et al, 2015). Significant effects of the genotype × environment interaction are the result of the non-additive relationship of the genotype and environment effects caused by change in plant performance in different locations (Resende, 2002;Rocha et al, 2016).…”

“…Its average grain productivity may reach 2.37 t ha -1 year -1 (Rocha et al, 2016). The average oil content of appropriately dry seed on mass basis is 34% (Achten et al, 2008;Siqueira et al, 2012).…”

“…An example of such areas is the Pernambuco state in the Brazilian northeast. The area has potential for the production of J. curcas (Rocha et al, 2016), but is one of the regions that most suffers with salinization (Oliveira et al, 2002). Soil salinization is a growing problem worldwide (Shabala & Munns, 2012).…”
