“…(11 Cases) Pancreatitis due to Ascaris has been regarded as a rarity, but perusal of the literature reveals many reports of isolated cases (Novis, 1923;Rigby, 1923;Gallie and Brown, 1924;Ch'in, 1933;Dobbs, 1935;Duncan, 1948;Ochsner and others, 1949;Moore, 1954;Kirk, 1958;van Rensburg and Kark, 1958), and in 1959 Ton, from Vietnam, reviewed a series of 189 cases, mostly adults. Our own experience leads us to believe that this complication of ascariasis is not a rarity in children and is about half as common as biliary obstruction.…”
