Objective. To elucidate the effect of acupuncture-moxibustion combined with rehabilitation training (RHT) on the curative effect, cognitive function (CF), and activities of daily living (ADL) of patients with cerebral infarction (CI). Methods. This study enrolled 150 patients with CI admitted to the Wuhan Sixth Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Jianghan University from June 2020 to July 2021. Among them, 80 patients who were treated with acupuncture-moxibustion combined with RHT were included in the research group, and 70 patients who received acupuncture-moxibustion alone were included in the control group. The efficacy, CF, and ADL were observed in both groups, and the influences of the two therapies on serum uric acid (UA), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and cystatin C (Cys-C) were compared. Among the various indexes, the CF of patients was assessed by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and the ADL was evaluated by the Barthel index. Results. After treatment, the research group presented significantly better efficacy, CF, and ADL than the control group, with lower levels of serum UA, hs-CRP, and Cys-C than the control group and before treatment. Conclusion. Acupuncture-moxibustion combined with RHT can inhibit serum UA, hs-CRP, and Cys-C levels of patients with CI while improving the curative effect, CF, and ADL, which is worthy of clinical promotion.

Evaluation of left ventricular diastolic function of patients with coronary heart disease by ultrasound images on bilateral filtering image noise reduction algorithm combined with electrocardiogram

Objective: To explore the evaluation of left ventricular diastolic function (LVDF) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) using ultrasound images (UI) combined with electrocardiogram (ECG) on bilateral filtering image noise reduction algorithm (BFINRA). Methods: A BFINRA was constructed, and 60 subjects who were investigated were divided into a control group (CG) from June 2019 to November 2019 in Taizhou People’s Hospital, a myocardial infarction group (MIG), and an angina pectoris group (APG). The patient’s LVDF was examined by two-dimensional electrophoresis (2DE) and real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE) combined with ECG. The results showed BFINRA could improve UI quality. Results: Clinical data indicated there were no substantial differences in age, gender, and fasting blood glucose of all subjects. 2DE examination results showed the left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV), left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV), and early diastolic mitral blood flow velocity / early diastolic mitral annulus velocity (E/E’) of MIG were much higher than CG (P<0.05), while the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), E / late diastolic mitral blood flow velocity (E/A) and E’ peak value were sharply decreased (P<0.05);LVESV and E/E’ of APG were increased dramatically (P<0.05), while E peak, E/A and E’ peak were decreased greatly. RT-3DE examination results indicated LVEDV and LVESV of MIG were considerably higher than CG (P<0.05), while LVEF and macrophage resistance factor (MRF) were enormously decreased (P<0.05);LVEDV and LVESV of APG were greatly increased (P<0.05). However, LVEF and MRF were not changed significantly (P>0.05). LVEDV had a remarkable difference (P<0.05), but LVESV and LVEF had no obvious differences (P>0.05). The electrocardiogram results illustrated the increase in QT dispersion (QTd) of MIG and APG was statistically significant (P<0.05) compared with CG, while the negative increase of P-wave terminal force in lead V1 (PTFV1) also had a statistical significance (P<0.05). Correlation analysis revealed that MRF and PTFV1 had positive correlation, while MRF and QTd showed a negative correlation. The Preventive Value of Acupoint Sensitization for Patients with Stable Angina Pectoris: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Positive-Controlled, Multicentre Trial

Background. Acupoint sensitization is considered an important factor in the efficacy of acupoint therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of acupressure in the prevention of stable angina pectoris using acupoints with different pressure-pain sensitivities. Methods. A total of 202 patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to a high-sensitivity group (HSG) (n = 109) in which patients received acupressure at the five acupoints with the highest sensitivity to pain and a low-sensitivity group (LSG) (n = 93) in which patients received acupressure at the five acupoints with the lowest sensitivity to pain. The duration of acupressure treatment was 4 weeks, and the patients were evaluated at baseline, week 4, and week 8. The primary outcome was a change in the frequency of angina attacks from baseline. The secondary outcomes included nitroglycerin consumption, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society classification, and the Seattle Angina Questionnaire score. Adverse events such as bleeding and subcutaneous haemorrhage were recorded in both groups. Results. The effect of acupressure compared with baseline on the prevention of angina pectoris in HSG was better than that in LSG at week 4 (incidence rate ratio (IRR): 0.691 and 95% confidence interval (CI): [0.569, 0.839]) and week 8 (IRR: 0.692 and 95% CI: [0.569, 0.839]). No significant difference between groups was found in the frequency of nitroglycerin consumption at week 4 (odds ratio (OR) = 0.863 and 95% CI: [0.147, 5.077]) or week 8 (OR = 1.426 and 95% CI: [0.211, 9.661]). Two themes in the questionnaire showed significantly different changes from baseline between the two groups. Scores on the angina frequency (AF) subscale had changed more from the baseline in the HSG at week 8 than in the LSG (mean difference (MD) = 3.807 and 95% CI: [0.673, 6.942]). Scores on the treatment satisfaction (TS) subscale had also changed more in the HSG than in the LSG at week 4 (MD = 3.651 and 95% CI: [0.327, 7.327]) and week 8 (MD = 4.220 and 95% CI: [0.347, 7.346]). One patient in the LSG reported bruising at the acupoint. No unexpected safety problems arose. Conclusions. This study showed that acupressure at acupoints with high sensitivity to pain may effectively reduce the frequency of stable angina pectoris episodes. This trial is registered with NCT03975140.
