Actual prestigious properties of maize inbred lines: A good initial basis for the efficient development of new and yielding maize hybrids

Abstract: This study conforms our hypothesis that there are elite maize inbred lines, which can be considered actual and prestigious as they have not only a property of the water status and a greater grain dry down rate during the maturation period, but also a property of the efficient photosynthetic-fluorescence model that is successfully used in the contemporary processes of breeding, and thereby in the development of new and yielding maize hybrids. Presented results obtained on the dynamics of grain dry down during t… Show more

“…Studying the thermal curve run and analyzing some segment continuity can cause the outcomes of existence of more variables for critical temperatures (temperature phase transitions), where larger or smaller structural and functional changes occur in chloroplasts and thylakoid membranes of the explored maize lines [2][3][4][5][6]. Dynamics of changes in temperature dependence of delayed chlorophyll fluorescence intensity for the thylakoid membrane is presented in Fig.…”

“…Thermal processes of delayed fluorescence (DF) of chloro phyll, phase transition critical temperatures, and acti vation energy [2][3][4][5][6]14] were also involved in fluores cence and photosynthesis researches. Inbred lines were grown in the experimental field of the Chemical composition and physical characteristics of the new line grains were defined using the tech niques published in the paper [5].…”

“…An improved, non-invasive photosynthetic fluorescence method was applied for these measurements. This method was developed at the Maize Research Institute and was described in previously published manuscripts [36,37,39,40,41,43,44].…”

“…In the context of the stated development dynamics, interdependent studies of many scientific disciplines (physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, biotechnology, breeding, photosynthesis and Raman spectroscopy) have been linked with the aim of modernizing and efficient implementation of up-to-date programmes on maize breeding and seed production [20,24,29,36,39,41,42]. In addition to outstanding results achieved in selection of standard grain and silage maize hybrids, there was a pressing need to develop new inbred lines and better quality maize hybrids intended for livestock feeding that would have improved chemical composition of grain, especially in essential bioactive compounds [3, 5-7, 9, 15-17, 22, 25, 46, 49].…”
