Abstract: Abstract.-The present study was aimed at isolating Argopecten purpuratus-associated actinomycetes strains, and evaluating their capacity of production of extracellular enzymes (ECE), as well as inhibitory compounds against relevant pathogens in commercial aquaculture. Twenty seven strains were isolated from the gut of A. purpuratus adult specimens that were collected in the city of Pisco and Pucusana (Lima) -Peru; 81.5 and 59.2% of the isolates showed proteolytic and lipolytic activity, respectively. In additi… Show more

“…These secondary metabolites isolated from Actinobacteria account for 45% of natural products derived antimicrobial drugs (Valli et al, 2012). For example, some metabolites, known as antibacterial, antifungal, neuritogenic, anticancer, antialgal, antimalarial, and anti-inflammatory activities, have been widely used in agricultural, pharmaceutical and industrial fields (Leon et al, 2016). Moreover, Actinobacteria protect plants from a wide range of phytopathogenic fungi by the production of fungal cell wall degrading enzymes, antifungal antibiotics and plant growth promoters (Singh and Gaur, 2016;Singh et al, 2018;Aamir et al, 2020).…”
