Acoustic Field of a Linear Phased Array: A Simulation Study of Ultrasonic Circular Tube Material

Abstract: As ultrasonic wave field radiated by an ultrasonic transducer influences the results of ultrasonic nondestructive testing, simulation and emulation are widely used in nondestructive testing. In this paper, a simulation study is proposed to detect defects in a circular tube material. Firstly, the ultrasonic propagation behavior was analyzed, and a formulation of the Multi-Gaussian beam model (MGB) based on a superposition of Gaussian beams is described. The expression of the acoustic field from a linear phased-… Show more

“…The therapeutic US pulse used for miRNA delivery had a derated in situ peak negative pressure of 5.3 MPa (MI = 3.8; Ispta = 26.4 mW cm −2 ), based on the previous study in a pig model of liver delivery. [11] MBs for Delivery: Clinically approved SonoVue contrast agent (approved in the United States under the name Lumason) was used for all the phantom and in vivo experiments. The agent consists of MBs made of a stabilized sulfur hexafluoride gas core surrounded by a phospholipid monolayer shell, with a mean diameter range of 1.5-2.5µm.…”

“…Eventually, these factors cause the formation of a blind zone of several millimeters in engineering materials during ultrasonic inspection. Transducer wedges can be added to reduce these effects, but at the expense of ultrasonic energy loss [6,7] and the appearance of artifacts in the imaging.…”

“…Therefore, it is important to detect defects in these components to ensure their safety in service. Ultrasonic testing provides an effective technique to nondestructively test and evaluate material properties [2,3]. When a cylindrical component is tested using the ultrasonic method, line-focused transducers can concentrate acoustic energy in a line through the cylindrical interface of the component, which is helpful for detecting flaws.…”
