Accurate Determination of Electromagnetic Forces in Isolated Phase Buses under Short Circuit Conditions

Abstract: Short circuit electromagnetic forces have vital role in the design of isolated phase buses. Therefore, accurate determination of these forces is needed. In this paper these forces as well as eddy currents and magnetic fields are calculated using finite element method. A program is then developed to find the worst conditions at which maximum short circuit electromagnetic forces occur.
