The authors analyzed the stages of creation, formation, development and modern activity of the Museum of Theater, Music and Cinema Arts of Ukraine, which is the only one in Ukraine in terms of its specialization. This museum has a history famous for its names and events. It is widely known in Ukraine and abroad for its permanent exhibitions and mobile exhibitions, created on unique exhibits from the history of theater, music, and cinema. Collected during its existence – since 1923 – a large and multifaceted collection of monuments from the history of the development of arts, which is constantly replenished with new materials, is the basis for scientific research, scientific advisory, expositional and exhibition work, a rich source for popularizing the achievements of the national theater, music and cinema. The article emphasizes that theater museums, film and music museums are an integral part of the development of world culture. They arose, developed and formed into a separate typological group of art museums. The uniqueness of each theater museum was determined by stationary expositions and temporary exhibitions, which were the main sphere of operation and a form of use and popularization of the processed funds. Reproducing the phenomena and events of the theatrical heritage, expositions and exhibitions visualized the most significant assets of both the past and modern theater and theater science in the language of museum exhibits. Research and analysis of the historical experience of exposition and exhibition activity of theater museums, film and music museums will be important for an objective assessment of the positive and negative consequences of the influence of national and cultural processes on their functioning and development. The challenges faced by theater museums, film museums and music museums in the course of their activities have common features and may vary depending on the specific situation and context. The article analyzes the typical problems and features that theater, film and music museums face in their activities. The article shows that these problems may differ for each specific theater museum depending on its size, financial resources, location and other factors. Their features may vary among theater, music, and film museums, depending on their resources, scale, and specialization. However, solutions to these challenges may include working with conservation professionals, attracting grants and sponsors, developing educational programs, and using new technologies to improve visitor audience engagement.

Serhii Andriyovych Podolinskyi (1850—1891) — a researcher of nature, natural philosopher, doctor, public figure and publicist, lived a short life. Still with the main works of S. A. Podolynskyi is almost unknown to the scientific community. Great Ukrainian scientist V. I. Vernadskyi was inspired by the scientific works and ideas of S. A. Podolinskyi. And the characteristics of S. A. Podolinskyi as a “forgotten scientific innovator”, which was given to him by V. I. Vernadskyi at the beginning of the 20th century, remains largely fair even today. The article was prepared for the 150th anniversary of the “energy concept” of S. A. Podolinskyi and dedicated to the history of his work “Work and its relationship to the distribution of energy” (1880). A number of issues of the distribution of solar energy in the universe are covered. The data on the value of S. A. Podolinskyi in the energetic interpretation of the development of nature and society. Analysis of each section of the article by S. A. Podolinskyi in the context of the impact of work on the distribution of solar energy on the Earth’s surface. Ideas of S. A. Podolinskyi, presented in his work “Man’s work and its attitude to the distribution of energy” testify not only to the priority of domestic science on many issues of natural science, the relevance of which is realized only in our time, but also retain methodological value in the world context. In the work of S. A. Podolinskyi’s reader will find an example of the formulation and approach to solving an interesting and necessary problem in the scientific field, which are characteristic of outstanding and original scientists. The most important is the opening of S. A. Podolinskyi that the development of living organisms on the Earth’s surface occurs under the influence of solar energy. That is why the name S. A. Podolynskyi is deservedly mentioned among the predecessors of V. I. Vernadskyi, who studied the energetics of living matter and the formation of the doctrine of the biosphere and noosphere. The importance of the work of S. A. Podolinskyi is considered and its further prospects in the development of scientific research on the use of energy.

Scientific-Technical Aspects of the World’s First Ukrainian Space Complex «veselka»

On October 27, 1961, the first world’s space launch vehicle (not completed and tested well ballistic missile) 11K63 (63S1) with a satellite was launched. The main goal of the new space complex “Veselka” (“Rainbow”) (K11K63) was to define potential branches for the effective usage of space technologies. The weight of the first Ukrainian satellite DS-1 (Dnipropetrovsk satellite) was 310 lbs. The practical usage of new space complex was the launch of artificial satellites weighing up to 990 lbs into low Earth orbit. For comparison, the weight of the first American satellite was 30 lbs. with the 4th stage of the rocket, without the possibility to detach the last stage. The satellite DS-1 passed all tests necessary for that time. It was completely ready for work in the conditions of outer space. But … the first Ukrainian satellite to go into space was DS-2, launched on March 16, 1962, in the 3rd launch attempt. For the first time, an attempt was made to analyze the phenomenon of creating the world’s first space complex and launching serial satellites of the Earth (hereinafter – the well-known series “Cosmos”) against the historical background. The scientific, technical, and military-applied aspects of the development of the space complex were analyzed. The role of the powerful industrial cooperation from the very beginning planned by Academies of Sciences, branch institutes, and scientists of Eastern Europe, France, Sweden, and India (the “Intercosmos” program) for the development of the complex was described. The issues of staff training for the rocket and space industry are particularly underlined as a key factor of success in space. Some inaccuracies regarding the history of Ukrainian satellites were noted and fixed, which are often found in some publications on this topic.
