Abundância e riqueza de espécies de Heteroptera (Hemiptera) do Parque Estadual do Turvo, sul do Brasil: Pentatomoidea

Abstract: ABSTRACT. Abundance and species richness of Heteroptera (Hemiptera) from Parque Estadual do Turvo, southern Brazil: Pentatomoidea. A two-year study was carried out at Parque Estadual do Turvo, Municipality of Derrubadas, southern Brazil, aiming to evaluate the composition, abundance and species richness of Pentatomoidea. Yucumã apresentou uma riqueza estimada significativamente maior do que a trilha do Garcia. Espécies únicas ou representadas por dois indivíduos equivaleram a 44,6% do total de espécies registr… Show more

“…SCHMIDT & BARCELLOS (2007), for instance, studying another conservation unity in southern Brazil (Parque Estadual do Turvo, distant 300 Km from the protected area sampled in this work) found, in the forest habitats, Heteroptera species that are frequently associated to crops, suggesting an influence of adjacent agricultural fields on forest habitats.…”

“…The high proportion of singletons and doubletons surpasses by far those recorded for Pentatomoidea (45%, SCHMIDT & BARCELLOS, 2007) and Coreoidea (32.1%, BARCELLOS et al, 2008) from PET in the same occasions. Sampling method might have influenced this result.…”

“…This trail showed more exclusive species of Pentatomoidea and Coreoidea than Garcia trail as well. SCHMIDT & BARCELLOS (2007) related their result to apparently higher plant heterogeneity along Yucumã trail. Also the higher evenness along this trail suggests that it is more diverse than Garcia.…”

“…The insect was recently observed in low numbers on rice before harvest, and on Aeschynomene denticulata Rudd (Fabaceae), a weed in rice fi elds in the state of Santa Catarina (D. Link, personal communication). During autumn 2005, M. curvidens was the most abundant species collected using the beat tray method (63% of total hemipteran species) in a conservation area in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul State (Schmidt & Barcellos 2007). However, there were no complaints from farmers of infestations of this species on cultivated soybean or wheat in areas adjacent to the state park surveyed.…”
