Abstract: Introduction: Cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) recognition of allogeneic MHC1-complexed epitopes is a defining mechanism of acute allograft rejection. Lifelong systemic immunosuppression achieves allograft tolerance through global CTL reduction, but carries significant morbidity.
