Bisher eingesetzte DLC‐Schichten sind wasserstoffhaltige (a‐C:H) bzw. Metallkohlenstoffschichten (Me‐C:H), die in einem Plasma‐CVD‐Prozess durch Zersetzung von Kohlenwasserstoffen abgeschieden werden. Ihr breiter industrieller Einsatz w… Show more

“…The 3-µm thick ta-C coatings were deposited on polished 100Cr6 steel substrates (62 HRC) after the deposition of a chrome adhesion layer. The adhesion layer was deposited in a DC-sputtering process and the ta-C coating by means of laser-controlled pulsed arc technology (Laser-Arc) at a deposition temperature below 100 • C (Scheibe et al [21]). Additionally, plasma filtering was used, which reduces the roughness because fewer droplets reach the sample during deposition.…”

“…Many researchers have focused on diamond-like carbon coatings (DLC) that are known to have a low propensity for tribochemical reactions and adhesive wear. In general, these properties result in a lower coefficient of friction compared to the metallic layer or hard coatings [14]. Plasma coatings for application on piston rings have also been investigated and promising results have been reported [10].…”
