A ZCZ‐CDMA system with BFSK modulation

Abstract: SUMMARY A quasi‐timing synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) system called ZCZ‐CDMA, which uses a set of sequences with a zero‐correlation zone called ZCZ code as a spreading code, is useful for short‐range wireless communications because of its excellent properties such as co‐channel interference‐free performance, simplified hardware design, and low transmit power as well as fast frame synchronization capability. In this paper, a ZCZ‐CDMA system with binary frequency‐shift keying (BFSK) modulation … Show more

“…In this section, the practicable ZCZ codes for each modulation scheme are described together [5]. Let A be a set of bi-phase sequences with length N and the family size M, defined by ZCZ sets are families of sequences, whose periodic auto/cross-correlation functions have zero correlation zones at both sides of the zero-shift and a ZCZ set can be defined by…”

“…In contrast to ordinary CDMA systems based on application of binary sequences [1,[6][7][8][9][10], sequences with a zero-correlation zone [11], and the systems based on applications of chaotic and Gold sequences [12][13][14][15][16][17][18], this paper presents a theoretical model of a noise-based phase shift keying (NPSK) CDMA system that uses random sequences as the carriers of users' information, which allow a higher level of security in signal transmission. Related to this aspect, the system proposed is substantially different from the systems described in literature.…”

“…One class of spreading sequences called Zero Correlation Zone (ZCZ) sequences possesses good correlation properties but only in specific zones called Zero Correlation Zone (Z CZ ). There are several intensive studies of CDMA systems using ZCZ sequences sets [1] [3]- [6]. Various classes of ternary ZCZ sequences sets have been constructed [3] [4] and [7]- [13].…”
