Mobile and wireless devices and networks enable "any place, any time" use of information systems, providing advantages, such as productivity enhancement, flexibility, service improvements and information accuracy. These benefits can be nullified by using systems of insufficient quality. Mobile-wireless information systems face new kinds of problems: narrow bands, small devices, tiny screens, and diversity of users and devices. Information systems quality cannot be measured only by software faults absence; it must be broader, including characteristics to cover all aspects, life-cycle phases, and viewpoints. This research develops a methodology to define and quantify the quality components of such systems, merging two fields together: mobile-wireless applications and standards for product quality assurance. The research has developed a list of questions from which new quality metrics were defined and empirically validated, extending the ISO/IEC 9126 quality standard for mobile-wireless information systems. The paper describes the metrics development process and presents examples of metrics.

Abstract-Web mashups are a new generation of applications based on the composition of ready-to-use, heterogeneous components. In different contexts, ranging from the consumer Web to Enterprise systems, the potential of this new technology is to make users evolve from passive receivers of applications to actors actively involved in the creation of their artifacts, thus accommodating the inherent variability of the users' needs. Current advances in mashup technologies are good candidates to satisfy this requirement. However, some issues are still largely unexplored. In particular, quality issues specific for this class of applications, and the way they can guide the users in the identification of adequate components and composition patterns, are neglected. This paper discusses quality dimensions that can capture the intrinsic quality of mashup components, as well as the components' capacity to maximize the quality and the userperceived value of the overall composition. It also proposes an assisted composition process in which quality becomes the driver for recommending to the users how to complete mashups, based on the integration of quality assessment and recommendation techniques within a tool for mashup development.

Abstract. The design and organization of a website reflects the authors intent. Since user perception and understanding of websites may differ from the authors, we propose a means to identify and quantify this difference in perception. In our approach we extract perceived semantic focus by analyzing user behavior in conjunction with keyword similarity. By combining usage and content data we identify user groups with regard to the subject of the pages they visited. Our real world data shows that these user groups are nicely distinguishable by their content focus. By introducing a distance measure of keyword coincidence between web pages and user groups, we can identify pages of similar perceived interest. A discrepancy between perceived distance and link distance in the web graph indicates an inconsistency in the web site's design. Determining usage similarity allows the web site author to optimize the content to the users needs.
