A water-stable luminescent metal–organic framework for effective detection of aflatoxin B1 in walnut and almond beverages

Abstract: Sensitive and rapid detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) without using antibody or biomolecular modifications in water is achieved using a novel water-stable luminescent metal–organic framework (LMOF) termed Zr-CAU-24.

“…Under optimized concentrations of anti-AFB 1 mAb ascites and AFB 1 -GOD (Supporting Information, Table S4), the increased PL intensity of ZGMP at 535 nm increased linearly with the logarithm of AFB 1 concentration in the range from 0.122 to 31.3 mgL À1 (Figure 4d). Therelative standard deviation for 11 replicate determinations of 10 mgL À1 AFB 1 is 1.9 %.The ZGMP-based luminescent immunoassay possesses high specificity for AFB 1 determination (Supporting Information, Figure S30) with aDLof0.037 mgL À1 (corresponding to 2.96 mgkg À1 in grain), which is lower than the maximum residue limit for AFB 1 in grains established by European Union, Korea, and China, [20] and some previous methods [21] (Supporting Information, Table S5). Moreover,t he developed method was successfully applied to the determination of AFB 1 in ac ertified reference material (GBW(E)100386) (maize) and several grain samples (Supporting Information, Table S6).…”

“…The blue luminescence of MOFs can be quenched by AFB1 efficiently and specifically with the LOD of 46 ppb. Another water-stable LMOFs was developed for sensitive and rapid detection of AFB1 in walnut and almond beverages [ 145 ]. The LMOF was synthesized by 1,2,4,5-tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) benzene (H4TCPB) and highly water-stable Zr, which exhibited raging fluorescence quenching when AFB1 existed with the LOD of 19.97 ppb.…”

“…Zirconium-based MOF probes (Zr-BTDB-fcu-MOF) with 4,4’-(benzo[c] [1,2,5] thiadiazole-4,7-diyl) dibenzoic acid (H 2 BTDB) as an organic ligand were reported for turn-on determining methylamine (MA), a production generated during the spoilage of fish [ 81 ]. Upon the addition of MA, the fluorescence emission of this probe intensity was dramatically enhanced, which may be subjected to the hydrogen interaction between MA, and H 2 BTDB restricted the rotation of thiadiazole group on the H 2 BTDB and improved π conjugation.…”
