A verification of the ITTC/ISO speed/power trials analysis

Abstract: Speed and power (S/P) trials are most important to guarantee the ship's propulsive performance. However, it was pointed out that the existing procedures often give a good guideline, but are not specific and can introduce inconsistent results. Recently, ITTC and ISO have improved their S/P trials procedures and harmonized the two procedures. During the harmonization process, we have verified the 'Mean of Means' (MoM) method and the 'Iterative' method which are used as the current correction methods and the 'Dir… Show more

“…Moreover, the various light sources and photosensors transmit and receive optical signals such as a laser diode (LDs), Avalanche photodiode (APD), p-n diode, etc. For further development of VLC in 2014s and onwards, the Visible Light Communications Associations (VLCA) was established in Japan for further standardization [21]. Although, the invention of LEDs received remarkable extent research for high data transmission of its dual nature as illumination and signal carrier [22].…”

“…Strasser et al [4] presented the summary of the investigations carried out in ITTC and ISO through which the revised international standard [5] was formulated. Basic concept of the iterative method being discussed in the paper was proposed by the author [6,7].…”
