“…This makes it problematic to draw conclusions about the characteristics of "people with disabilities" in a specific year based on the CPS. Research has shown however, that CPS-based trends in prevalence of work limitations and employment rates for people with work limitations are similar to those found in other surveys using alternative measures of disability, such as the National Health Interview Survey and the Survey of Income and Program Participation (Burkhauser et al, 2002;Burkhauser, Houtenville and Wittenburg, 2003;Kaye, 2003).
