A Transmitted Reference Pulse Cluster Averaging UWB Receiver

Abstract: The transmitted reference pulse cluster (TRPC) structure for ultrawideband communications enables a more robust autocorrelation receiver (AcR) than a conventional transmitted reference (TR) scheme. In this paper, to further improve the performance of TRPC AcR, we propose a TRPC averaging (TRPC-A) AcR by using a TRPC-A method, which is similar but different from the pulse averaging method used in a conventional TR scheme. The proposed receiver structure is designed in both analog and digital methods, and their … Show more

“…In this system, obtain on the data pulse after modulation (BPSK modulator) and the reference pulse without modulation. After that, multiplier both pulses to give the transmitter signal [6]. In channel model, the transmitted signal of this system enters to wireless channel known as AWGN channel which is added to channel model some noise signals to required transmitter signal [7].…”

“…[8]. ATR technology [6] reduces the noise effect of reference pulses on system performance by averaging the decoding reference pulses. But at the same time, the accuracy and volume of analog delay lines limits the realization and the BER performance of TR receiver.…”
