A topological approach to the identification of critical measurements in power-system state estimation

Abstract: Abstract-This paper presents a new topological methodology for critical measurements identification in observable networks. A measurement is said to be critical, in an observability sense, if its removal from the measurement set makes the associated system lose observability. The proposed methodology is based on the properties of both, observable measurement subnetworks (OMS) and redundant branch sets (RBS), for the first time proposed. To reduce the combinatorial bluster, the proposed method divides the measu… Show more

“…The use of hybrid Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Simulated Annealing (SA) approach for the scheduling of generator maintenance in power systems using an integer representation were discussed in [12]. Author provided a case study depends on formulating the optimization problem as an integer [13] programming problem using a reliability-based objective function to satisfy problem constraints. They claim that the developed results using the hybrid approach is better than using only genetic algorithms or only on simulated annealing.…”
