A Timetable of the Early Development Stage of Silkies Embryo

Abstract: The early embryos are obtained in different time after the former egg had been laid, and the aim of the present study was to observe the development law of chicken early embryo. The embryo development has been divided into the two periods according to morphology of blastodisc. Cleavage period, from 5.5 h (0 h uterine age) to 15.5 h (10-10.5 h uterine age) after the former egg had laid, formation blastodisc of 6-7 layers cell. Later blastocyst period, from 17.5 h (12-12.5 h uterine age) to area pellucida formati… Show more

“…Two‐ to seven‐day‐old fertilized eggs of White Leghorn chickens were obtained from the Institute of Poultry Science, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences and incubated at 38°C, 70% relative humidity for 68–72 hr to stage 19 or for 5.5 days to stage 28. The developmental stages of the embryos were determined according to previously described methods (Hamburger and Hamilton, 1992; Li et al, 2003a).…”

“…There was blood running in the blood vessel, moreover, the time of the PGCs first appeared in the embryo was in common with the heart formal beat and the blood begin circulation. It was the evidence from the study that: the extra embryonic blood vessel net has formed at somite 5 to 7, its differentiation progress first begin at the exterior portion of the extra embryonic area vascculaire, and toward to the direction of the embryo slowly (Li et al, 2003). The omphalomesenter switched on somite 10th, formed the vitelline circulation toward to the heart.…”
