A Systematic Review on Cognitive Radio in Low Power Wide Area Network for Industrial IoT Applications

Abstract: The Industrial Internet of things (IIoT) helps several applications that require power control and low cost to achieve long life. The progress of IIoT communications, mainly based on cognitive radio (CR), has been guided to the robust network connectivity. The low power communication is achieved for IIoT sensors applying the Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) with the Sigfox, NBIoT, and LoRaWAN technologies. This paper aims to review the various technologies and protocols for industrial IoT applications. A de… Show more

“…The proposed method goes to its highest value, which is 50, as compared to fuzzy-IoT, two fuzzy, and FDMS; for this specific value, the vehicle speed and velocity are the same as other clusters' vehicles. The vehicles leave the cluster if the vehicle moves faster or slower velocity than the other vehicles [78][79][80][81][82][83]. The possibilities of vehicle to reside inside the cluster are more when the value of Fuzzy-IoT is increased.…”

“…CR seems a promising mechanism to address the high demand of the WSN/IoT networks on the frequency resources. Yet, CR-IoT should prove its energy efficiency as well as the spectral efficiency especially for industrial applications [161]. The deployment pattern and the transmission protocol play an essential role to minimize the energy consumption and reduce the interference between nodes [162] leading to enhance the energy efficiency of the CR-IoT network.…”
