In recent years, the widespread use of automobiles has brought convenience to people's production and life. However, the rapid growth of car ownership has raised concerns about energy security, climate change, and air pollution. If new energy vehicles can be popularized, problems such as environmental pollution and resource scarcity will be significantly alleviated. However, the market communication and the enthusiasm of consumers to purchase new energy vehicles are still not ideal. Therefore, this study has three objectives; for the above research objectives, this paper takes the "stimulus-organism-response" (S-O-R) model as the research framework, takes the marketing stimulus (S: cost of use) as the antecedent variable, and takes the consumer perceived value (O: Perceived Functional Value, Perceived Emotional Value, Perceived Social Value) is the mediator variable, and Response (R: Purchase Willingness) is the outcome variable. In this study, the authors examine how usage cost and consumers' perceived value affect the purchase intention of new energy vehicles. In addition, compared with previous studies, previous researchers' studies on new energy vehicle purchase intentions were based on government subsidies; however, in the absence of subsidies, do product prices and usage costs affect consumers' purchase intentions? There are few related studies. Therefore, this paper conducts research and fills in the gaps. In addition, this study's results will help scholars re-understand the importance of product price and usage cost in influencing consumers' perceived value and decision to purchase new energy vehicles. At the same time, it also provides references and suggestions for the government and enterprises to promote the marketization of new energy vehicles.

The intersection of Industry 4.0 technology (I4.0‐Tech) with sustainability (SUS) remains largely unexplored, particularly due to its interactions with supply chain visibility (SCV) and circular economy practices (CEP). To fill this gap, our study empirically examines I4.0‐Tech's impact on SUS through SCV and CEP. We utilized structural equation modeling to test the hypothesized relationships using data from a survey of 344 medium and large Chinese firms. The empirical findings support the indirect role of I4.0 through SCV, and CEP. I4.0‐Tech enables real‐time material and product tracking for SCV. Optimizing material utilization, fostering closed‐loop supply chains, and allowing circular product design enhance CEP. Furthermore, our findings show a positive relationship between SCV, CEP, and SUS. This highlights the need for robust supply chain capabilities in enabling I4.0‐Tech to drive SUS. This paradigm emphasizes recalibrating approaches to SCV and CEP‐focused frameworks to easily include and exploit I4.0‐Tech. This study contributes to the literature and gives actionable insights for managers and policymakers wanting to synergize I4.0‐Tech, SCV, and CEP in industrial processes to promote sustainability goals and a sustainable future.

Financial development and environmental quality in developed countries: a systematic literature review

Studying the effect of financial development on environmental quality has become imperative in the modern world due to the climate change challenges. Hence, this systematic literature review provides a comprehensive overview of the existing body of knowledge on the nexus of financial development and environmental quality in developed countries. Three databases: Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar were used to search the relevant articles in this domain. Finally, 20 journal articles qualified for the systematic literature review based on the pre-defined article inclusion criteria as per the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) framework. We found that a range of econometric approaches were used in all examined papers, employing a diverse range of proxy variables to model the relationship between financial development and environmental quality. Overall, the findings of the examined papers imply mixed evidence of this nexus in developed countries. We highlight the knowledge gap in this research domain examining the financial development and environmental quality link from different proxies.
