A systematic PLS-SEM approach on assessment of indigenous knowledge in adapting to floods; A way forward to sustainable agriculture

Abstract: The present study was conducted in one of the major agriculture areas to check farmers indigenous knowledge about the impacts of floods on their farming lives, food security, sustainable development, and risk assessment. In the current study, primary data was used to analyze the situation. A semi-structured questionnaire was distributed among farmers. We have collected a cross-sectional dataset and applied the PLS-SEM dual-stage hybrid model to test the proposed hypotheses and rank the social, economic, and te… Show more

“…Since PLS-SEM is one of the most useful methods for predicting outcomes and since it is the most commonly recommended method for predicting and assessing explained variables to account for the largest potential variance to analyze the relationship among variables. 19 PLS-SEM is used to analyze data since it is the most recommended way for predicting and assessing explained variables to account for the largest potential variance, and PLS-SEM is one of the most effective approaches for predicting outcomes. 40 PLS-SEM permits using a limited sample number while yielding higher-quality conclusions.…”

“…-No paper has mentioned the actual policies related to the topic of the study. -Besides awareness of the climate change issues and knowledge and skills, risk of income loss, farm size, and training and extension services influence farmers' decision to the adaptation and mitigation strategies (Byrareddy et al, 2021;Ma et al, 2022;Maleksaeidi et al, 2016;Musafiri et al, 2022;Samuel and Sylvia, 2019;Setsoafia, Ma and Renwick, 2022;Singh et al, 2021;Sohail and Chen, 2022;Wilk, Andersson and Warburton, 2013;Zeweld et al, 2018). -High cost of production and financial access were the common barriers for farmers to implement sustainable practice (Bhalerao et al, 2022;Bosma et al, 2012;Branca et al, 2021;Branca et al, 2022;Kopytko, 2019;Sarkar et al, 2022).…”

“…Coal, the most polluting source (Barreira et al, 2017), has remained the dominant energy source in China over the past 20 years (see Figure 1). While the coal-based energy framework has contributed to the economic boom, it also poses significant challenges to China's long-term development, i.e., aggravating environmental pollution (Yang & Teng, 2018;Sohail et al, 2022b;Sohail M. et al, 2022;Yang, Zhou et al, 2022;Zhao, Huangfu et al, 2022), causing substantial health damage (Yang et al, 2013;Sun et al, 2018), and accelerating climate change (Edwards, 2019). Among those problems, air pollution has developed into a major economic and social concern in China (Sohail et al, 2021a;Sohail et al, 2021b;Chen et al, 2022;Fami and Sohail 2022;Lan et al, 2022;Liu N. et al, 2022).…”
