A Systematic Literature Review on Waste-to-Resource Potential of Palm Oil Clinker for Sustainable Engineering and Environmental Applications

Abstract: Several agro-waste materials have been utilized for sustainable engineering and environmental application over the past decades, showing different degrees of effectiveness. However, information concerning the wider use of palm oil clinker (POC) and its performance is still lacking. Therefore, as a solid waste byproduct produced in one of the oil palm processing stages, generating a huge quantity of waste mostly dumped into the landfill, the waste-to-resource potential of POC should be thoroughly discussed in a… Show more

“…With big granule size, AGS kept its granular shape of ∼ 900 nm. A study revealed that Ag‐NPs ≥ 50 mg L −1 could remarkably repress the biological nitrogen removal 77. The presence of Ag‐NPs promoted the ROS and LDH of microorganism buildup.…”

“…As the world is looking for greener and cleaner materials, the main considerations are sustainability in the production of construction materials as the effect of unnecessary industrial and agricultural byproducts can be minimized cost and sustainability can be enhanced [1]. Geopolymers have evolved in this direction as sustainable alternatives for Portland cement and other binders which not only lowers greenhouse gas emissions but also alleviate the substantial amounts of waste materials.…”

“…Flexural and rupture strength, along with stiffness, have also been focused on in different investigations of its uses in tunnels, rigid pavements, piping and gradient covering [13][14][15]. Recently, many investigators have led experimental investigations on the properties of LWC using locally available waste materials [16][17][18][19].…”
