Based on the characteristic feature parameterization and the superiority evaluation method (SEM) in extension engineering, a product-shape design method was proposed in this study. The first step of this method is to decompose the basic feature components of a product. After that, the morphological chart method is used to segregate the ideas so as to generate new product forms. Finally, the extension engineering method can be used to build the relationship between the feature parameters and the image vocabularies. With this method, designers are able to communicate with their clients via Internet and develop more suitable products for consumers by evaluating their impressions with the assistive system. It has been verified that this approach can reduce the development time as well as enhance the effectiveness and competitiveness of a new product.

In the last decade, Business Intelligence (BI) became a predictable technological advantage of the large enterprises which could afford to buy, implement and maintain BI solutions. Presently, small and medium size enterprises all over the globe have realized competitive and financial benefits of BI. However, limited IT budgets of small companies and BI's high total cost of ownership have created a gap between large and small enterprises where small enterprises do not become fortunate to avail the virtues of BI because of the affordability factor. This research proposes a BI framework which provides automated data mapping, loading from user application to BI framework and also validates it. The implementation of the proposed framework provides convenience of use and effective cost saving as it does not require any technical expertise and any non-technical user can get on with it very well.

Innovation is playing an increasingly important role in management, but the process of generating creative ideas for innovation mostly relies on skilled persons which are usually unavailable. Information technology is changing the management environment and accumulating huge data, from which data mining discovered a lot of knowledge. However, it's difficult to use such rough knowledge and information effectively to benefit the innovation. Based on the new cross discipline Extenics, we analyzed on current innovation models and methods, and present a combined innovation model using intelligent knowledge management and extension transformation methods. The model process the knowledge discovered from data mining into a tree structure and save them in knowledge base in basic-element format. We then explore the innovation paths and its directions by a formularized model by human-computer interaction method based on Extenics. The model can objectively describe how the innovation solutions are created. Furthermore, we present a management innovation case to support our model. The framework is proved useful for practical applications.
