“…This study was conducted to develop predictive models based on comprehensive analysis of causal factors for PONV in patients using PCA. The incidence rate of PONV was 27.7% in this study, which is lower than in the study of Negus and Markocic 3 where a rate of 52 -62% was indicated.…”

“…Although patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) has been demonstrated to be a safe and effective method of pain control, 1,2 patients on PCA experience a high incidence (52 -62%) of post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV). 3 After surgery, PONV has been shown to be one of the most distressing complications for patients, 4,5 with an incidence of 32 -91%. 6 -8 In addition, it has been reported that PONV increases the likelihood of incision pain, haematoma, wound dehiscence, 9 dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, hospitalization time, 10 dissatisfaction with medical care 11 and medical costs.…”

“…[4][5][6] For these reasons, PONV guidelines have been used to provide high-quality patient care while controlling costs. [6][7][8] These guidelines recommend prophylactic antiemetics for patients at medium to high risk of developing PONV, and treatment for patients who develop nausea and/or vomiting postoperatively. In 1997, the Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) developed PONV guidelines, which were published in 1998 ( Figure 1).…”

“…and the morpholino ethyl derivative(70) show the excellent affinity and selectivity and act as a full agonist and a partial agonist at the CB2 receptor and induce a concentration-dependent decline of cell capability on lymph node carcinoma of the prostate (LNCaP), cell line expressing the CB2 receptor[81]. Regarding CB2R affinity, the compounds (69 and 70) prove as compounds of interest to have a maximum affinity, with Ki values of 0.7 µM and 1.5 µM and 4.5 µM respectively[82].Saccomanni et al[83] study the synthesis of novel aryl iodonium salts used as precursors for single-stage nucleophilic[18] F radio fluorination.…”
