Abstract:The cultural attributes of architecture in touristic cities are vital to city image building, city branding, and rebranding, as well as generating more economic profits for sustainable urban development, and protecting cultural sustainability. However, many studies on this theme focus on the singularity of architecture referring to its stylistic or morphological definitions, lacking attention to visitors' cultural experiences in the architectures. Considering the importance of personal experience involved in cultural activities as a process of spatial narration through which architecture makes sense to visitors and generates cultural values, the aim of this paper is to reveal the respective correlations between different types of architecture regarding the cultural experience it imparts and the non-positive dimensions of the city image. This research builds a categorization system of three cultural types of architecture, and designs a questionnaire to collect tourists' personal opinions concerning architectures and the city image of Amsterdam's waterfront in order to calculate such correlations statistically. The results associate architectures with 'tourism-oriented', 'present/process-based', and 'mass' cultural types with non-positive dimensions of city image, which leads to further discussions of 'authenticity', 'identity', and 'mass culture', suggesting the significance of urban cultural policies and local communities in terms of city rebranding.

Traffic congestion is rapidly increasing in urban areas, particularly in mega cities. To date, there exist a few sensor network based systems to address this problem. However, these techniques are not suitable enough in terms of monitoring an entire transportation system and delivering emergency services when needed. These techniques require real-time data and intelligent ways to quickly determine traffic activity from useful information. In addition, these existing systems and websites on city transportation and travel rely on rating scores for different factors (e.g., safety, low crime rate, cleanliness, etc.). These rating scores are not efficient enough to deliver precise information, whereas reviews or tweets are significant, because they help travelers and transportation administrators to know about each aspect of the city. However, it is difficult for travelers to read, and for transportation systems to process, all reviews and tweets to obtain expressive sentiments regarding the needs of the city. The optimum solution for this kind of problem is analyzing the information available on social network platforms and performing sentiment analysis. On the other hand, crisp ontology-based frameworks cannot extract blurred information from tweets and reviews; therefore, they produce inadequate results. In this regard, this paper proposes fuzzy ontology-based sentiment analysis and semantic web rule language (SWRL) rule-based decision-making to monitor transportation activities (accidents, vehicles, street conditions, traffic volume, etc.) and to make a city-feature polarity map for travelers. This system retrieves reviews and tweets related to city features and transportation activities. The feature opinions are extracted from these retrieved data, and then fuzzy ontology is used to determine the transportation and city-feature polarity. A fuzzy ontology and an intelligent system prototype are developed by using Protégé web ontology language (OWL) and Java, respectively. The experimental results show satisfactory improvement in tweet and review analysis and opinion mining.

In the contemporary circumstances of accelerated globalization, every country, region and city have to compete for their part in the total number of the world's consumers, tourists, businesses, investment and experts. Creating a brand and building a favorable image of the specific city can be of great importance in the process of the realization of its economic, political and developmental objectives, differentiation with regard to competitive cities, as well as in the process of gaining a global competitive advantage. This paper examines the impact of foreign direct investment and the image of the company on the improvement of the image of the city in which the investments are realized. The results of the empirical research, which refers to the investment of the international company Fiat in the City of Kragujevac, indicate that investments, the company's image and its business have a positive influence on the image of the city, primarily through its impact on the economic and infrastructural aspects. Стварање бренда и изградња повољног имиџа одређеног града могу бити од изузетног значаја у процесу остваривања његових економских, политичких и развојних циљева, диференцирања у односу на конкурентске градове, као и стицања глобалне конкурентске предности. У раду се истражује утицај страних директних инвестиција и имиџа компанија на побољшање имиџа града у коме се инвестиције реализују. Резултати емпиријског истраживања које се односи на инвестицију међународне компаније "Фијат‖ у граду Крагујевцу указују на чињеницу да инвестиције, имиџ и пословање компаније утичу позитивно на имиџ града, првенствено кроз њихов утицај на економске и инфраструктурне аспекте.Кључне речи: бренд града, имиџ града, имиџ компаније, ФИJАТ, стране директне инвестиције.
