A study on the stress corrosion mechanism of microstructures in a heat-affected zone of high-strength steel weldment in artificial seawater

Abstract: This short communication investigate the relationship of mechanical properties and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of microstructures in a heat-affected zone of high strength low-alloy steel in artificial seawater. It showed that SCC susceptibilities of different microstructure were controlled by electrochemical corrosion behavior and grain size, which is decided by the SCC mechanism.
