Improvement of corrosion resistance of galvanization/nickel/chrome plating low carbon steels in H2SO4under dynamic condition

Abstract: In this work, the corrosion resistance of metallic coating (ISO 1416) deposited on AISI 1080 low carbon steel has been investigated under static and dynamic conditions (flow rate 30 rpm). The coated steels have been immersed into aqua solution of H 2 SO 4 at 80 °C temperature up to 3 h where pH value 1 is maintained. The corroded surfaces are characterized by SEM, XRD, ATR, EDS and Tafel extrapolation methods.
