“…There was no need to apply MW irradiation [55]. Phospha-Michael reactions of methyl vinyl ketone with P-heterocyclic nucleophiles deriving from a dibenzo-1,2-oxaphosphorine oxide or 1,3,2-dioxaphosphorine oxide were carried out in the presence of DBU [56].…”

“…Recently, various methodologies have been developed for the synthesis of heteroaryl/aryl/alkyl α-hydroxyphosphonates by using Lewis acid or alumina, 11 Lewis bases 12 (Et 3 N, pyridine and TMG) and strong bases 13 (NaH, n-BuLi, and LDA). In addition, some catalyst or promoters, including metal oxides (such as Al 2 O 3 14 and MgO), Bronsted bases (EtONa and Ti(OiPr) 4 ), 15,16 and some others like KF and MoO 2 Cl 2 17,18 were found to be effective for this transformation. However, some disadvantages associated with these reported procedures are addition of the supplementary reagents like MgCl 2 /Et 3 N 19a and In/AcOH, 19b high heating, long reaction time, 18 costly, and moisture sensitive catalysts and also tedious work up processes to remove catalyst.…”

“…In our laboratory, the possible accomplishments of the phosphaMichael reaction were studied on simple model reactions [4]. The addition of >P(O)H species to α-methyleneglutaric esters was performed to make available potential NAALADase inhibitors useful in the treatment of stroke [5].…”
