With the advancement of multimedia technology, a series of problems have emerged in the reform of college English teaching. How to use multimedia to assist college students in English learning has become a meaningful study. Multimedia-assisted instruction is a common method of teaching English. The design of multimedia-assisted English teaching resource software determines its development, management, evaluation and other aspects, so the design of multimedia platform plays a vital role in the effect of multimedia teaching. This paper will discuss the design and implementation of multimedia-assisted college English independent education resources from the perspective of knowledge classification. Through the content analysis, some problems exist in the design process of some college English multimedia teaching, and the status quo is analyzed. It also studies the difficulties of college students in the process of multimedia assisted learning, and how college students hope to design multimedia independent learning multimedia platform. Finally, the five knowledge classification learning theories of “listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating” can change the status quo, meet the needs of college students, and develop the knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and listening in college English. The design strategy of self-learning multimedia-assisted instruction and the design of college English self-learning multimedia teaching is briefly written.

Convergence and advanced technologies spring forth as a result of lateral entry by firms in different markets, and today, there is a synergistic combination of traditional industries and state-of-the-art technologies, such as information technology. The main goal of this issue is to bring researchers from academia together with professionals from different industries to share algorithms, solutions, and architectures as well as their experiences. We expect this special issue to be viewed as a continuum of products and as the lateral entry of research from different technological perspectives on digital management. The effort diffuses technological competencies and values within existing technologies' base information systems. The convergence process blurs traditional technological and sectorial boundaries and thus opens new avenues of technological innovation in ubiquitous technologies [1,4,6,10,15]. This issue challenges processing overhead in convergence and advanced technologies.The paper by Kim et al. [5] introduces an efficient mobility management scheme for convergence of mobile media multicast services in next-generation networks. A bstract-Learning across multiple contexts via social and content interactions, using handheld devices consists of a promising field in modern education. The ever increasing mobile population can assist mobile learning which focuses on the mobility of learners and instructors, interacting with portable technologies. In this paper, the implementation of a mobile authoring tool, which is called m-MALL Author, is presented. M MALL Author offers the instructors the possibility of creating and editing the learning material of the English, German and French language on the spot and predominately by using mobile phones. Thereafter, the learners are able to use their mobile phones to have access to the theory and tests. Instructors can monitor the performance of their learners by using their mobile phones, and thus they can provide advice tailored to the latter's needs. Both instructors and learners can communicate by using the application installed in their mobile phones. Finally, using mobile tools for authoring learning materials becomes an important part of the educational process.
