A study on relationship between condition of location and structure of local residents' awareness of the facility for the elderly (Part2) Heewon CHOI, Kazuoki OHARA and Yasuhiro FUJIOKA This study focused on the local residents' contact of facility for the elderly and correlation with environmental characteristic of site. Then, we tried to verify the hypothetical consciousness structure which is combined with previous paper's one. It is 'Community attachment-Evaluation of facility-Contact pattern of facility' and correlation between environmental characteristic of site and these triangular model. The results are as follows. 1. There are four factors on contact type to the facility, which are 'Facility contact', 'Information contact', 'Sensory contact', and 'Service contact'. 2. Local residents can be grouped 5 clusters by contact pattern, which are 'No contact group', 'Sensory contact group', 'Service contact group', 'Service/facility contact group', and 'Information/facility contact group'. And individual properties or image of facility showed correlation with these contact pattern. 3. The significant causality between contact of facility and evaluation of facility has verified. 4. Though it is same contact factor, it can work as different effect factor-positive effect factor or negative one-by difference of site environment. Through these results, this study could show the basis of the methodology on site planning or facility planning, considering the process which is from contact of facility to community attachment.

This study examined the facility construction of a residential area from the perspective of community care through a case study. An analysis was conducted of Kitasuma-danchi developed by Hyogo housing coop. Kitasuma-danchi comprised 2,000 residences and facilities. Facilities for the elderly and the disabled were gradually provided by the housing coop , the residents' association, and several social welfare corporations.

Residential resources were extracted from the residents' perspectives based on the survey. Results of the decision tree analysis using indicators of the natural environment of the residents' residential areas and their personal attributes revealed that residents are more likely to perceive a cohesive green space with tall vegetation within a radius of up to 3 km from their residential area. It was confirmed that the local natural environment enhances their sense of well-being and contributes to community satisfaction.
