A Study of the Eigenfunctions of the Singular Sturm–Liouville Problem Using the Analytical Method and the Decomposition Technique

Abstract: The history of boundary value problems for differential equations starts with the well-known studies of D. Bernoulli, J. D’Alambert, C. Sturm, J. Liouville, L. Euler, G. Birkhoff and V. Steklov. The greatest success in spectral theory of ordinary differential operators has been achieved for Sturm–Liouville problems. The Sturm–Liouville-type boundary value problem appears in solving the many important problems of natural science. For the classical Sturm–Liouville problem, it is guaranteed that all the eigenvalu… Show more

“…This modification is based on transforming the considered fourth-order ODE into an equivalent integral equation of the Volterra type. Mukhtarov and Yücel [14] utilised the ADM to investigate the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of twointerval SLPs that arise in modelling many phenomena in physics and engineering. Rysak and Gregorczyk [15] have shown the effectiveness of the DTM in solving problems arising in fractional dynamical systems.…”

“…Ao and Yang (2019) investigated the eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville problems with distribution potentials. Mukhtarov and Yucel (2020) computed the eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions of singular Sturm-Liouville problem using a new algorithm based on Adomian decomposition method.…”

“…Such a problem is called a problem of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. It is also called the task of Shturm Liouville [1,9,11]. The Fourier method is an accurate method of solving these problems.…”
